Get discovered with video ads on YouTube

Like many creators, when fitness instructor Mike Chang first created his workout channel, he built a growing subscriber base but felt that he was only reaching a portion of people interested in fitness content on YouTube. He tried out YouTube video ads, and now 41 percent of new viewers find him through his ads and his subscriber base is more than 460,000 strong.

We realize that there may be other creators who also want to reach more people with their videos. So to make it easier to reach a larger audience on YouTube, we’ve developed a new way to create an ad for your video directly from your video manager. With this new feature, you can now easily upload a video to YouTube and start promoting it with a video ad within minutes.

Starting today, you can access this tool by selecting the "promote" link on the video manager "edit" drop down menu, or from the watch page dashboard drop down menu. Enter the amount you want to spend and you can use the traffic calculator to estimate how many views to expect from your ad campaign. 




You can then target your ad to reach a specific audience and write three lines of text that will appear next to your video ad.


To complete your ad, simply set up your billing profile in Google AdWords for video and confirm your settings. If you are an existing AdWords advertiser, you will not need to create a new account, but if you’re new to AdWords, you will create an AdWords for video account as part of this set-up flow.


By default, your ads will appear as TrueView in-display ads on YouTube pages with related content and TrueView in-stream ads before related videos. As with all TrueView video ads you only pay when a viewer watches your ad. If you’d like to try other formats or targeting options, you can make these changes in AdWords for video at any time. This is the latest example of how we’re enabling you to reach more potential viewers and grow an engaged audience on YouTube. In March, we also announced YouTube Partner Promotion, which automatically pulls from your top content to create promotions that run across YouTube and the Google Display Network with the goal of reaching new subscribers.   1. That may be a good way to make money from us... I don't know what to think of Youtube's strategy.
    We partners work very hard to provide high quality content and make a living out of it. Youtube also take a percentage and benefits from our work. How can you ask us to pay to get views ? You're shooting a bullet in your own foot...

    Anyway, I'm also aware that you're working hard to stay the best and for your advertisers. Maybe we can ask for a better consideration for your users too ?
    We need each other - creators need Youtube but don't forget that Youtube exists by creators work...

  2. For businesses such as mine and other people like me who joined YouTube, we joined not to be a partner, but to utilize the features YouTube has to offer. Things like uploading a video for people around the world to see, promoting oneself and having the ability to embed your videos on other websites to drive traffic to other destinations. So, being a partner is just one of the many perks YouTube offers users who fit the partnership criteria. Especially for users like me that have a merch store, a video ad campaign will drive traffic to the store which is awesome!

  4. This is ridiculous. Smaller content creators have to pay for views (plus the ad only runs for a week), and if they don't they won't grow. You guys may have these "Partner Programs" and yet they are only available in certain countries. Big Youtuber's don't have to do anything and yet they remain on the homepage and on people's recommendation lists. Further, when I "Browse" I am not really browsing. I am only coming across Youtuber's who have an established subscriber base. For instance, when I click "Browse" and then "Comedy", it is the same big channels that remain there. You guys should keep the page fresh with new faces. In the end, advertisements ruined what made Youtube what it was back in the early days...as long as the big Youtubers run ads on their videos and generate money for Youtube, they will stay on "Featured" videos, "Recommended" videos, the homepage, and basically everything else.

  5. Put all songs that each artist as ever made on vevo as audio's for example eminem has at least 150 songs that could go on EminemVEVO from all his albums, that way all songs by eminem is in 1 place and then youtube could take down all the copies and clean youtube up

  9. Hey, I tried it for a couple of videos for a minimal amount. About $6. These were videos that were no longer getting many views since they were no longer new. After the ad campaign started, I've received a better than 25% increase in views in just a few days. And I've had some better revenue days lately, too. Can't say for sure if that's the cause, but could be.

    It would be nice if playlists were promotable in the same way. Also a way to roll a certain amount of adsense earnings into an adwords account would be interesting.

It may be possible that you opting those websites where you have to pay something to earn then juts try to go for those websites where you don't have to pay anything either for uploading your videos or for watching videos and this will help you to have a better chance to earn without any investment......
